When Elliot writes about his experience with the Jock Rots and sends it out over the KidNet, he includes the following quote in his letter.

"I think people ought to realize that stuff like this goes on every day... The rest of you are all part of it-because you let it go on and maybe you think it's funny, or you think it only happens to geeky outsiders and kids who are smaller or fatter or skinnier or don't have so many friends or so much money as you. So tell me-what happens when you don't have so many friends one day, or you don't have so much money, or something bad happens to you?" (91-92)

Blog Question:What is the message is he trying to get across to his classmates? (6pts)

Well first of all he is writing about his experience with the Jock Rots. He then writes how would you feel if you were being bullied which I think is a good statement because people would get to think about that and maybe stop bullying since they know it feels bad for the people that gets bullied. He is saying "What if" questions which is really powerful in this situation. He has the desire to change the whole bullying situation so that no one feels uncomfortable coming to school. He wants to make everything equal. He knows how it feels because he is also being bullied right now. And he doesn't like the way it feels. And he knows he's not the only one who thinks that. Thats why he, Russell, and Catalina started the whole " The Revealers" so that people that doesn't know this is going on can try to stop this from happening or at least know about it so that they can respect others too if they are the bullies.

I wish you could give your answer straight forward. It was good how you showed Elliot's feelings shown in the letter, but you kind of made your answer hazy. Also, you may want to try changing the beginning of the sentences instead of continuing to say 'He...' or 'And he...'. The good part is when you showed how Elliot was trying to tell others that 'you may feel same with me' statement. It was, how eh tried to pursue others to stop bullying.

Well I think you did good on explaining what he wrote about with his experience with the jock rots, but you could have you could have put page numbers to back up the second part of your answer.

Explaining the feelings and what a character think really help the answer more specific. Explaining what situation is about help the answer as itself is a evidence of a book.
